I love historical fiction. It’s difficult to really understand, let alone to appreciate, what is until we know what was.
So when I received an advanced reader copy of Valeria’s Cross, I was more than intrigued. This is not just historical fiction, it’s 3rd century historical fiction, set mainly in Turkey and Egypt in the shadow of the Roman Empire’s glory days. The landscape is one of war and jealousies and the persecution of Christians. Few of these really affect the life of princess Valeria, pampered daughter of Roman Emperor Diocletian. Until she must be whisked off to Egypt for her safety, that is. And until she meets the Christian religion… and studies it… and is converted. And until she meets the handsome Maurititus.
Better not say too much more. You need to read the book!
I’ll tell you what, though. When the book is out, we’ll invite Kathi and Susan to come and do an interview with us. That’s something you won’t want to miss!
Valeria’s Cross, written by award-winning author Kathi Macias and author/speaker Susan Wales is due for release September 2010.
But you don’t need to wait. It is already available at www.Amazon.com.
What can separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Apostle Paul, Romans 8:35, 37
