I’m shivering today. An angry winter storm blusters outside, crushing down the daffodils and tulips, and peppering the frosty ground with pink and white blossoms blown off the trees.
Yuck. What happened to spring? My soul needs it!
Friday. Today is Good Friday.
The weather forecast for tomorrow states cold and rainy. The wildly blustering winds are supposed to calm, but the sky will be shrouded in clouds. Cold and rainy and very, very still.
Saturday. Tomorrow is Holy Saturday.
But then with the dawn, warm sunshine is due to return. Clear and lovely, the forecast says. Or maybe not. The weather forecast is notoriously optimistic. Perhaps it will shower and stay chilly. Even so some sunshine will peek through. Hopefully outside, but certainly inside.
Sunday. Easter! Christ is risen!
Angels, roll the rock away;
Death, yield up thy mighty prey:
See, He rises from the tomb,
Glowing with immortal bloom.
